Fireplace or fire pit?
A fireplace is a focal point: it anchors a seating area, blocks a view or wind, and can include wood storage and a hearth. A fire pit is more social, with seating all the way around, and costs less. Both can be wood-burning or gas.
How we build them
Fire features need a solid footing, fire-rated materials where the heat is, and safe distance from the house, roof and plants. We plan placement with you on the estimate visit, then build the base from block and finish it in stone veneer or natural stone, with the patio around it.
Cost
Fireplaces and fire pits are priced per project. Many are part of a larger backyard build with a patio and outdoor kitchen, and those projects generally run $30,000–$50,000. A fire pit added to a patio costs much less. The estimate is free.

Wood or gas?
Wood gives the real crackle and smell; gas lights with a switch and is cleaner. Gas lines are run by a licensed plumber.
Do I need a permit?
Some cities and HOAs have rules for outdoor fireplaces and fire pits. We check during the estimate.
Can you add a fire pit to my existing patio?
Usually, yes. We’ll look at the patio and placement on the estimate visit.
