Paver prices in Tampa depend on size, material and how much has to come out of the ground first. Instead of quoting national averages, here's what Reliable Hardscapes projects actually cost in 2026. We're a licensed Florida contractor (CGC1541003) with 12 years of paver work around Tampa Bay.
Typical project prices
Most backyard patios are a few hundred square feet. Bigger than that is less common, and that's where the $10,000 range starts.
Cost by project
| Project | What drives the price |
|---|---|
| Patio | Square footage, material (concrete pavers vs. travertine or flagstone), pattern, and whether a lanai slab is being covered or extended. Starts around $3,000. |
| Driveway | Removing the old concrete, a deeper base to carry cars, size and borders. Tear-out and replacement typically around $15,000. |
| Pool deck | Deck size, material (travertine costs more), removal of the old deck, and work around coping and drains. |
| Walkway | Length and width, steps, and how much digging is needed. Small walkways are often added to a larger project. |
| Full backyard | Patio plus outdoor kitchen, fireplace or fire pit, or retaining walls: generally $30,000–$50,000. |
What moves the price
- Demolition. Breaking out and hauling old concrete is real labor and disposal cost.
- Base depth. Driveways need a deeper, more compacted base than patios. A cheap quote often means a thin base.
- Material. Concrete pavers are the best value; brick-style, travertine and natural stone cost more.
- Pattern and cuts. Herringbone, borders, curves and inlays take more cutting and labor.
- Access. Tight side yards or no room for equipment mean more hand work.
- Grading and drainage. Fixing a yard that holds water adds work but protects the investment.
- Sealing. Optional, and priced separately.
Concrete, brick or travertine?
Concrete pavers give you the most color and pattern choice for the money and are strong enough for driveways. Brick-style pavers suit traditional homes and borders. Travertine stays cooler underfoot, which is why it's common on pool decks, and costs more. Flagstone and natural stone give an irregular, natural look at a higher price.
How to compare paver quotes
- Is old concrete removal and haul-off included?
- How deep is the base, and is it compacted in layers?
- Is there an edge restraint, and are joints filled with polymeric sand?
- Is sealing included or extra?
- Is the contractor licensed? (Ours: CGC1541003.) Is there a written guarantee? (Ours: 2-year guarantee.)
Frequently asked questions
What’s the minimum project size?
Our projects start around $3,000, which covers roughly 300 sq ft of pavers.
Why do two paver quotes differ so much?
Usually base depth, demolition, material and what’s actually included. Compare line by line: how much base, who hauls the old concrete, edge restraint, polymeric sand, sealing and the guarantee.
Is removing old concrete included?
On our driveway and pool deck jobs, yes. It’s one of the biggest cost drivers, so make sure every quote you compare includes it.
Are pavers more expensive than concrete?
Up front, usually yes. But concrete on Florida’s sandy soil tends to crack and can’t be patched invisibly, while pavers can be lifted and reset.
Do you offer free estimates?
Yes. We come out, measure and give you a written price at no cost.
