We design and build paver patios in Tampa and across Tampa Bay: small seating areas off the lanai, larger entertaining patios, and patios that tie into an outdoor kitchen, fire pit or pool deck. Materials include concrete pavers, travertine, flagstone and natural stone.
Reliable Hardscapes is a licensed Florida contractor (CGC1541003) with 12 years building backyards like these, and every patio carries a 2-year guarantee.
Planning a patio
The best patios start with how you'll use them: a table for eight, a grill station, a fire pit circle, shade. On the estimate visit we sketch the layout with you, check where water goes when it rains, and match the material to the house.
Many patios grow into bigger projects. Adding an outdoor kitchen or fireplace is easiest when it's planned with the patio.
How we install it
- On-site estimate. We measure, look at drainage and access, talk through layout, pattern and material, and give you a written price.
- Excavation and removal. Old concrete, sod or soil comes out to the depth the job needs. Grading is done in-house, so the finished surface sheds water away from the house and pool.
- Base. Crushed base rock goes down in layers, each one compacted with a plate compactor. The base is what keeps pavers flat, and it's deeper under driveways than under patios.
- Bedding and laying. A screeded sand bed, then the pavers in your pattern, with clean cuts at every edge and around drains.
- Edge restraint and joints. A restraint locks the outside edge so nothing creeps. The surface is compacted and the joints are filled with polymeric sand.
- Sealing (optional). Sealer deepens color and helps with stains. We'll tell you honestly whether your pavers need it.
Patio cost
Our smallest patio projects start around $3,000 for about 300 sq ft. Most backyards don't go far past a few hundred square feet, and a larger patio typically runs around $10,000. Big projects that add a kitchen, fireplace or walls usually fall between $30,000 and $50,000. See the paver cost guide.

Frequently asked questions
What’s the smallest patio you’ll build?
Our projects start around $3,000, which covers roughly 300 sq ft of pavers.
Pavers or flagstone?
Pavers are uniform, cost less and suit modern and traditional homes. Flagstone has an irregular, natural look and costs more. We bring samples of both.
Can you extend my existing patio or lanai slab?
Yes. We can extend with pavers and, when it makes sense, cover the old slab so it all matches.
Do patios need sealing?
Not always. Sealing deepens color and resists stains. We’ll recommend it only when it helps.
